The drawing for Cru was definitely out of my normal comfort zone. As a rule I only work from my own pictures. Cru was a special case. Cru was in neonatal and pediatric care for the first three months of his life. With wires and tubes, gauze and casts, and all sorts of apparatus, I wanted to create a clear view of tiny Cru at this early stage for his parents to cherish forever. Cru was born less than 2 lbs, but is now doing incredibly well and growing strong. The family still has medical bills accumulating and they travel long miles for appointments.
