Rita, now 90, learned to sew from her mother. She now sews at least 50 lap quilts a year, sometimes two a week. Rita’s efforts help to keep the ladies’ Missions Alive ministry in pace. The women meet monthly to complete the quilts as well as several other projects to provide for people in need around the world. A warm quilt to warm a home, to warm a room and make it home. 

Rita’s hands move quickly across the fabric, years of experience tied up in tight knots holding the fabric of life together. Providing the stitches that offer a new hope, a loving warmth that once seemed lost.

She passes her blessing on to the next person who adds their loving touch, binding up the ends so that the warmth cannot escape again. And the blessing is passed on again, growing in warmth with each giving…
